After we gathered our supplies in DIY Swing Part One, Kevin was ready to get to work. I won't pretend to understand how he's going to put this together, but I've got pictures!

Dorothy always wants to help. Really, she's hoping that Kevin digs, so she can get worms.
I honestly have no idea what he's thinking here.
I have found it best to leave him alone and let him do his thing.
Of course, I happily provide food and drink to keep his brain fed.
I can't help it. I get distracted. I can't break Kevin's concentration, so I will play with the girls. Dennis is a chatterbox.
Dorothy found a worm.
Dennis is so curious. Especially when Kevin gets tangled up in things.
Gussy would like to know what is so interesting to the girls. He has to investigate.
None of this has anything to do with building a swing. I'm really sorry, but I can't ask Kevin about every step of the process. So this is my role in it all. Maybe you can figure it out from the pictures.
As I patiently waited and silently supported Kevin, he put the bed together, reinforcing any joints that he felt needed it. I know that he will chop the legs off next.
This was the end of day one. He really is a good man. He worked that morning, came home to go shopping, and started my new back yard swing. I can hardly wait for the next steps!
